Application Process
When you become a student at MH - MA, you become part of the Raven family. We seek students who have the desire to be successful in each part of our mission: Live the Faith. Pursue the Truth. Apply
- Complete the pre-registration enrollment information.
- An email verifying submission of your enrollment pre-registration will be sent to the contact named on the pre-registration enrollment form (this can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes for the email to process through the system after approval).
- Admissions staff will review and process the pre-registration enrollment information (within 48 hours of the pre-registration enrollment information being submitted).
- Once the pre-registration enrollment information has been processed by the Admissions Office, an email with the steps to create a parent portal account will be sent to the contact named on the pre-registration form (this can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes for the email to process through the system after approval).

Letters of Recommendation
Applicants will provide two letters of recommendation as follows:
- Administrator - head of school, principal, counselor, etc.
- Teacher of choice - if requesting math, please use specific math recommendation form.
Homeschool Students:
We will accept recommendation letters from your parish priest, instructors/tutors, youth ministers, and community members. We do not accept recommendation letters from parents.
Submit School Transcript
Incoming 9th-grade students: Submit middle school transcripts showing classes taken and grades earned. For applicants applying before December 15, MH - MA will request transcripts directly from your current middle school.
Transfer students entering grades 10, 11, or 12: Submit a copy of your official school transcript listing all completed high-school-level courses, grades, and credits earned. Please notify us if your school requires a direct request from MH - MA, and we will make contact. If required by your school, download and complete the Transcript Release form.
International students: Submit transcripts showing grades and credits from the current school year and previous two years (English translation required). We will accept unofficial transcripts during the admission process; submit official transcripts before the first day of school.
Standardized Tests
Incoming ninth grade day students will need to register for the Pre-ACT to be taken at the MH-MA campus in December. Registration deadline is November 30. There is a $25 fee due at the time of registration.
Transfer day students and all domestic boarding students can submit any standardized exam scores taken in middle or high school.
Interview
For the final step in the application process, all new students and at least one parent will interview on campus or virtually via Zoom or Skype.
Day students: On-campus interview with the admission director, head of school, principal, and counselor. We will contact you in early February to schedule interviews and notify students of the admission decision on March 1 via mail.
Boarding students: On-campus interview can be conducted during campus visit with the school administration, admission director, and residence director. Please email or call the Admission Office at (913) 367-5482 to schedule your interview. An in-person interview is required if family lives within the United States. The admission committee will inform the parent of its decision - usually within two weeks of completing the application process.
International students: All prospective students must interview with the director of admission. This interview can be conducted virtually using Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp Video, or WeChat. The Admission Committee will notify you of its decision - usually within two weeks of completing the application process.
International Students
In addition to the items above, we require the following documentation from our international applicants:
- Passport: Upload a copy of your passport through the application portal.
- English proficiency exam: We require a certain level of English proficiency dependent on grade level. We accept most English proficiency exams, including Duolingo, TOEFL Jr., TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, CEFR, and ELTiS. Please review our proficiency requirements on our English as a Second Language page. Students who provide us with an InitialView interview may not need to provide us with English language testing results. An InitialView interview and writing sample can be done online and takes about an hour. The InitialView interview is a one-on-one informal conversation conducted by trained interviewers. it is not scored or graded. it will be reviewed by our admissions team to determine if you qualify for a waiver of English language testing requirements. - Writing Sample: Submit a writing sample of choice, which can be an essay already written or applicant may answer the question, "Why do you want to attend a boarding school?" Essay should be maximum 250 words, in English, and must be typed.
